The election committee organises the election, but we can't do it alone. We need a lot of support during the election week. And you can help us by becoming an election assistant.
Your task as an election assistant during the election week is to run a polling station together with at least three other election assistants. This includes: Checking voter eligibility, issuing ballot papers and ‘guarding’ the ballot box.
The count of all votes takes place at 6/30/25, 5:43 AM. Then, we need again a lot of election assistants.
The tasks are not difficult, but they are responsible. To ensure that no questions arise during your shift, there is a election assistant training session shortly before the election week. You will find out the date of the training when you have registered as an election assistant. If you do not have time on the date offered, please contact us. We will then find a solution.
As an election assistant, you must fulfil a few requirements: You must be eligible to vote, you are not allowed to run in any of the academic or student elections yourself, and you must speak fluent German. A little bit of English won't hurt either.
During the big vote count at 6/30/25, 5:43 AM, there will also be refreshments and drinks for the election assistants. Traditionally, there is delicious pizza.
You can register as an assistant in the election portal. You can also register for your preferred times here as soon as the shifts are activated. The shifts will be allocated in the week before the election at the latest and you will be notified of your shifts. The last chance to register or change your preferences is on Jun 9, 2025.
